The purpose of Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is to strengthen families through the education and support of all parents in providing the best possible environment for the healthy growth and development of their children.

ECFE is built on three basic principles:
1) Parent-Child interaction is where learning begins.
2) Parent-to-Parent support is valuable for parents and children.
3) Starting early leads to early success.

ECFE offers classes on Tuesday from 4:30-5:45 pm. and 6:00-7:15 pm. We also have classes on Wednesday mornings from 10-11:30 a.m..    ECFE classes provide opportunities for parent-child interactions and experiences, including projects, stories & music, and free play. Parents and children stay together during our evening classes.  Remote Parent Education is offered to evening participants, including book studies, online chats, resources, and Zoom sessions.  For our morning classes, parents meet with the parent educator to discuss relevant topics and concerns for the last half of our class.  During this time, the children (age 18 months and over) stay with the early childhood teachers for snack and playtime.

ECFE also offers special events celebrating the season or to focus on a specific topic.   Special events are typically open for the whole family to enjoy.

ECFE uses a Facebook page for communication and to share resources. Check it out at https://www.facebook.com/groups/ChatfieldECFE
