Science Fair
Advisor: Nora Gathje
The INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair, a program of Society for Science & the Public, is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition.
Students in grades 6-12 are awarded the opportunity to showcase their independent research and compete for Science Service Awards and prizes.
Competition begins at the regional level each February. Students can advance to represent the SE Minnesota Region at the Minnesota State Science and Engineering Fair in Minneapolis in March. From there a student can advance to the International Level.
Science Fair Competitions encourage young scientific minds to showcase their talents on an international stage, where doctoral level scientists review and judge their work.
The SE MN Regional Science Fair will be held at Winona State University on February 25, 2022. High school students can compete with an original project and/or paper presentation. Many students have the opportunity to advance to the state competition on March 14 and one winner from the region will win an one week all-expense paid trip to Atlanta to compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair in May 2022. Please see Mrs. Gathje if you are interested in competing.
