Math League
The Math League program for students in grades 7–12 provides an opportunity for students to explore mathematics beyond the traditional classroom through problem solving, critical thinking, and academic competition. Math League encourages students to develop logical reasoning skills, perseverance, and a deeper appreciation for mathematics in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Students participate in regular practice sessions where they work individually and in teams to solve challenging math problems covering topics such as number theory, algebra, geometry, probability, and logic. Problems often require creative thinking and multiple solution strategies, helping students strengthen both their mathematical understanding and confidence.
Math League members have the opportunity to compete against students from other schools through regional and statewide competitions. These events allow students to test their skills, represent their school, and experience academic competition in a positive and engaging setting. While competition is an important component, the primary focus of the program is learning, growth, and enjoyment of mathematics.
The Math League program is open to students with a wide range of abilities—from those who enjoy math and want an extra challenge to students considering future coursework or careers in STEM fields. Participation helps students build problem-solving skills, teamwork, time management, and resilience that are valuable in academics and beyond.
Math League is a great fit for students who enjoy thinking critically, tackling tough problems, and working with peers who share an interest in mathematics. Contact the high school office for more information.
