All Student Announcements (7-12):

Graduation will be held on Sunday, May 31, at 1:30.  More specific information will be given tomorrow.

Hello everybody, as the school year is coming to an unconventional ending, DELTA would like to invite all of you to send in a video of yourself and tell us something you miss. The things you miss can deal with school or just something you miss about everyday life. Responses can be sincere or sarcastic. Please email your response to Mr. Slowiak at zslowiak@chatfieldschools.com by Wednesday, May 13th. We miss all of you, and cannot wait to hear what you miss!

7-8 Grading

·         The last trimester will be graded using A, B, C and D with the D grade being adjusted to include effort and any special circumstances during the Distance Learning time period.  Students that are below the D range will not fail but instead receive a GN (Growth Needed).  Students that receive a GN may complete the course during summer school with parent input on this decision.  Students in Grades 7 & 8 will not be restricted from moving on to the next grade level because of GN grades that were received during the COVID-19 Distance Learning period.

9-12 Grading

For students in grades 9-12 the last semester will be graded using the A, B, C, ME and GN.  The ME stands for Met Expectations and is considered passing the course.  The GN stands for Growth Needed and the student needs to make more progress to receive a credit and pass the course.  Students with a ME grade will receive credit for the course and will not have the course figured into their GPA.  Students that receive a GN will not have the course figured into their GPA and will not receive a course credit unless they take summer school or complete a plan of study during the next school year.  Students that receive a GN will be a case by case basis with parent and student input.  A student that receives an A, B or C will receive credit and their grade will be figured into their GPA.  Any student may request to receive ME instead of a letter grade, but must make that request prior to May 20, 2020 to Mrs. Duxbury, guidance counselor.  Before a final decision is made the guidance counselor must review the pros and cons with the student regarding the ME grade versus a letter grade.
