Photo Retake Day is Thursday, September 15th 8:00 – 10:30 am in the Multipurpose Room. Photo retakes for staff 7:30-8:00 am

Anyone interested in joining Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), come to the forum on Monday September 26 during access time. New and returning members welcome!

Delta applications are now available!  Delta is a group made up of students and teachers who are working together to positively influence the culture and relationships at our school.  We want to create positive change, make all students feel welcome, and recognize the accomplishments of our CHS community.  We are responsible for G.O.P.H.E.R. cards, staff question of the month, the military recognition wall, Holiday Hooplah Week, the Gopher Podcast, and so much more.  All students in grades 7-12 are invited to apply.  You can find the application link here: https://forms.gle/Hd45Duvi96yL2ZTHA or scan the QR code on one of the posters in the hallway.  We hope you consider joining us!  Applications will be accepted through Friday, September 16.

Art Club will be having their first meeting of the year Wednesday September 14th from 3:15-4:45pm in Ms. Potter’s room (112). Come with ideas to work on for the year and excitement for art!

Senior High Announcements (9-12):

Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences Education is having an open house this Fall!   Our open house is a time for students to come and explore the many careers in healthcare outside of a doctor or nurse and talk directly to the program directors and current students. We will have about 22 programs participating this year and we will have hands on activities as well as tours of classrooms/lab/clinical spaces.  It is truly an exciting night with all the chatter that goes on and I am personally excited to be able to host it again!

Minnesota Honor Society Officer Applications are available from Mrs. Gathje and are due back by the end of the day Friday 9/16. 
There will be an MHS meeting for all current members on Monday 9/19 in the Forum Room during Access time.  We will elect officers and plan our service activities for the upcoming year. 

 

Jostens Sophomore Ring orders will be in the Cafeteria at lunch on Friday!


Mayo Clinic Career Exploration is hosting high school students interested in careers in Radiology, Surgery, Respiratory Therapy, Histology, Pathology, Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy and other health related fields.  The experience is in person or virtual.  Registration is required.  Please see Mrs. Gathje for more details.  Discover Mayo Clinic Flyer.2.pdf


2022 Mayo Clinic Healthcare Career Festival
The annual Mayo Clinic Health Care Career Festival is back offering high school students in southeastern Minnesota the opportunity to explore a wide range of exciting career opportunities in a festive, engaging atmosphere. It will be a fun day of learning, sharing, and hands-on experiences. This event provides career awareness education, information on career fields, and opportunities to use patient care equipment.

• Interact with over 50 departments through hands-on activities

• Network with Mayo Clinic professionals at the booths

• Try REAL patient care equipment

• Visit college and post-secondary education booths

Counselor News:

The Alpha Upsilon Chapter is offering a $500 scholarship to assist with student teaching.
Please see the following guidelines:
* Must have graduated from Chatfield, Dover- Eyota, or St Charles High School|
* Must student teach sometime during the 2022-2023 school year
The scholarship was established in memory of Randi Peterson who was a teacher in the Dover-Eyota school district and was a member of the Alpha Upsilon chapter of ADK.
Alpha Delta Kappa is an international organization of outstanding women who are involved in the field of education who promote high standards of education to strengthen the status advancement of the teaching profession.
If you or anyone that you know fits the criteria for the scholarship please contact Sara Duxbury in the counseling office.

 

Any seniors interested in going to the Minnesota Education Fair on Friday, October 14th from 9am to 10:30am, should sign up outside the counseling office NOW.
