Dance Team Tryouts for the 2021-2022 season will be held June 7th-10th, 5:30pm-7:30pm in the High School Gym. Tryouts are open to anyone entering grades 7-12 for the 2021-2022 school year.

We will be voting on additional members to High School Student Senate this Spring for the 2021-2022 school year.  Students in grades 8 - 11 who are interested in becoming a member need to sign up outside the councilor's office by Wednesday, May 19th.  Voting will be Friday May 21st.  Student Senate runs and organizes a variety of activities like Homecoming, candy cane sales, Valentine cookie sales and Snow Week

Distance Learning Students Update:  Students that are currently Distance Learning can return to Full In-Person on Monday, May 24 if your parent/guardian makes a request to the Counselor’s Office (Terri Dudek or Sara Duxbury) by Noon on Friday prior to the day you want to return. p5-18

 

Senior High Announcements (9-12):

SENIORS: There will be a senior class picture taken on Monday during Flex at 1:14 down by the Chatfield sign. Please plan to be there.

 

Juniors and Seniors: Please check for any books that you used for English class. Mrs. Bren is still missing some copies of various books and would like them returned ASAP. This includes the CIS class. Thank you.
 

GBB meeting for grades 9-12 Friday in Coach Baum’s room during flex.

Umpire’s meeting for summer baseball for anyone interested grades 9-12 Wednesday during flex in Coach Baum’s room.


There will be an MHS meeting for all members (who are in the building) on Thursday, May 20 during Flex. Please meet in the Forum.

 

Volunteer Opportunity: The elementary is gearing up for Camp Invention this summer and are looking for some High School students (grades 9-12) who would be willing to be leadership Interns. Camp Invention is June 14-18 with orientation on June 11. Leadership Interns get 40 hours of community service and a letter of recommendation from the National Inventors Hall of Fame. See Mrs. Conway for a description of what a leadership intern does or for more information.

 

Invites and tickets were mailed out to each senior on May 13.  The ticket is good for 1 senior & 2 parents/stepparents = 3 boxed lunches.  If you are in need of more (mixed families) you will need to purchase additional boxed lunches at $8.00 each.  Please make checks payable to CHATFIELD COMMERCIAL CLUB.
It is important that you RSVP by May 19 so that we can get an accurate count for the boxed lunches to the cater.  You can respond to llowrey@chatfieldschools.com or 507-867-3240. If you haven’t responded it will be considered that you are not attending the dinner.

Counselor News:

The RCTC Foundation is excited to announce new Skaaren Scholarships for students with financial need, with preference given for students of color and single parents.  Thanks to the generosity of the Warren Skaaren Charitable Trust, we have $30,000 to award for Fall 2021.  The scholarship application portal is open from May 10- June 18, 2021.

The colleges and universities of Minnesota State are coming together for one week in June to offer special information sessions so you students can learn more about their academic options, financial aid, transferring from a two-year college to a four-year university, and more. Your students can even apply for FREE anytime during the week.

Middle School Announcements (7-8):
 

Middle School: For the rest of the year on Wednesdays we are going to honor Hailey Schafer by either wearing her shirt, or wearing a pink shirt. This Wednesday we will be honoring her by planting a tree and dedicating that tree to her. 

 

Morning Break ala carte is NOT part of the free breakfast or Free lunch programs. All morning break items are extra charges.  If you have a negative balance DO NOT come thru the line unless you have cash.
