All Student Announcements (7-12): 

Attention Chatfield Gophers! Chatfield Jr. High football players will be taking up donations at HOCO for the “Tackle Cancer”
Randy Shaver Cancer Research & Community Fund. Look for Jr. High football players wearing jerseys at half time to add
your contribution. Also, look for the “Tackle Cancer” 5 gallon bucket at the concession stand for dropping off your contribution.
Over 135 MN high schools are raising funds for cancer. Let’s represent Chatfield well!

Fat Bear Week starts on October 5th, but today you can check out the preliminary match-up: Fat Bear Junior! Both events take place in the Katmai National Park & Preserve in Alaska, but you can participate by voting online for the bears you think are the fattest!! Bears need lots of fat to survive the winter, and this event is to raise awareness for the bears. More info at explore.org/fat-bear-week and in the LINC by the big TV which is playing highlights and live shots of bears in Katmai.

FFA CONVENTION
FFA Members interested in attending National FFA Convention Tuesday Oct-Sat Oct 29 should talk to Ms Fritz 
Students interested in participating in the following judging contests should see Ms Fritz as soon as possible.  General Livestock, Horse, Dairy, Poultry, Soils, Forestry and Meats
There is an invitational at the U of MN that you can participate in on Wed Oct 12

Monday – AMerica Monday- dress up in all your patriotic attire
Evening: 7 pm-Painting Windows in the Cafeteria Class Competition and 9 pm. making T-shirts for little miss/Mr. personality day, Thursday

Tuesday – Jersey Day-dress up in all your sports clothes and support your favorite team
Evening: 7 pm-Bean Bag Class Competition (sign up form outside of counseling office).
9 pm-Bonfire down at Mill Creek- horse arena end

Wednesday – Color Wars

Saturday – Dance at H.S. for 9-12, from 8 – 11:00 pm, cost $5.00. Out of town guest forms are due by October4th. Students who leave will not be allowed back in. 

 

 

Ears pods and case turned in late last week to the front office.  They can be claimed with description.

 

Senior High Announcements (9-12):

Seniors: HOCO Voting! - An error was made on the original HOCO ballot. If you have already voted, those responses have been deleted and you will need to vote again. I apologize for the mistake and any inconvenience! You still have until Friday at 3:10pm to get your votes in.

 

Drivers Ed is scheduled for October 24-Nov. 4, 3:30-6:30 p.m. in the Forum Room.   The class is open for students 14 ½ and older.   Go to https://www.enhanceddrivinginstitute.com/ to register.

 

Seniors – You will be voting for your 2022 Homecoming candidates this Wednesday, September, 28th. Look for a link to the Google Form ballot in your email on Wednesday. Ballots will be closed for voting on Friday at 3:10pm.

Candidate announcements – All 9th–12th graders will attend the HOCO candidate announcement on Monday, October 3rd during access time. After attendance has been taken, join your classmates in the gym to meet your 2022 Homecoming Royalty.

 

Homecoming Dance Guest Registration forms are available in the Front Office.
Deadline is Tuesday, October 4th.

Juniors and Seniors: We are looking for workers for the concession stand and 50/50. There are many dates open to work for football and volleyball this season. There are forms on Ms. Adams desk (117) if you want to look at dates or check your email for a prior email from Ms. Adams. If you have questions please contact Ms. Adams. Please turn forms into Ms. Adams as soon as possible.

 

 

Counselor News:

 

All Juniors and Seniors who plan to attend a two year or four year college or university after high school should plan to go to the Forum on Tuesday October 4 to listen to Tiffany Betcher who is speaking to us about FAFSA.  October 1 is the beginning of FAFSA month where all students apply for Financial Assistance to further their schooling after high school. You won’t want to miss this.  Please see Mrs. Duxbury for questions and sign up

 

October is Minnesota State Month. That means we’re waiving our application fees! For the entire month of October, your students can apply for FREE to one or more of the 26 state colleges and seven state universities of Minnesota State. It’s a great way for students to save a few bucks and get started on the journey to their dream careers. Learn more about Minnesota State Month at

Any sophomore who is interested in signing up for the PSAT test should do so outside the counseling office.
The pretest is on October 6 at 8:10 in the Forum and the Exam will be given on October 12.
