All Student Announcements (7-12):

Graduation will be held on Sunday, May 31, at 1:30

Congratulations to the seniors that have received the Chatfield Fireball Youth Association Scholarship of $250 each: Lexi Chase, Carlie Berge, McKenna Daniels, Teagan Allen, Katie Ihrke, Kim Greiner, Sloan Clemens,  Abby Nosbisch

7-8 Grading

·         The last trimester will be graded using A, B, C and D with the D grade being adjusted to include effort and any special circumstances during the Distance Learning time period.  Students that are below the D range will not fail but instead receive a GN (Growth Needed).  Students that receive a GN may complete the course during summer school with parent input on this decision.  Students in Grades 7 & 8 will not be restricted from moving on to the next grade level because of GN grades that were received during the COVID-19 Distance Learning period.

9-12 Grading

·         For students in grades 9-12 the last semester will be graded using the A, B, C, ME and GN.  The ME stands for Met Expectations and is considered passing the course.  The GN stands for Growth Needed and the student needs to make more progress to receive a credit and pass the course.  Students with a ME grade will receive credit for the course and will not have the course figured into their GPA.  Students that receive a GN will not have the course figured into their GPA and will not receive a course credit unless they take summer school or complete a plan of study during the next school year.  Students that receive a GN will be a case by case basis with parent and student input.  A student that receives an A, B or C will receive credit and their grade will be figured into their GPA.  Any student may request to receive ME instead of a letter grade, but must make that request prior to May 20, 2020 to Mrs. Duxbury, guidance counselor.  Before a final decision is made the guidance counselor must review the pros and cons with the student regarding the ME grade versus a letter grade.

Chatfield Senior High School has decided to recognize their Senior class with a daily Senior Spotlight. These Seniors have been nothing short of exceptional members of the Chatfield School and will leave a positive and long-lasting impact on the school, staff, and culture at Chatfield.  These Senior Spotlights will give the community of Chatfield a little glimpse into who some of these Seniors are, and what we can expect from them in the future.

Beatrice Martin...

According to Chatfield's next senior, words of wisdom to live by are "don't ever judge a person for just being who they truly are". Beatrice is someone who enjoys being involved in school activities. She was in Cross Country, Speech, Fall Play, Spring Play, Gymnastics, FFA Parliamentary Procedure, and Band. Beatrice was chosen as a AAA Award Winner (Arts, Academics, and Athletics) and has held several leadership positions (FFA Vice President, Team Captain for Cross Country, Speech, and Gymnastics, and the Band Section Leader). Someone that Beatrice admires is Ms. Fritz for being a very powerful and positive woman. Next year, Beatrice will be attending the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and majoring in Social Work. This degree will allow Beatrice to do something she loves and she feels it will make her very happy. Beatrice, thank you so much for being such a caring and invested person at Chatfield High School. You made Chatfield High School a better place and you will be missed! Good luck and Go Gophers!

Luke Ihrke...

Luke Ihrke is someone who loves being outdoors and cherishing time with family and friends. Also, Luke is our next senior in the spotlight. Unbroken is Luke's favorite book. Country music and The Dark Knight movies are a few of Luke's other favorite things. When Luke is outdoors, he enjoys fishing and hunting. Two people that Luke admires are his parents. He admires his parents because they have always pushed him to be his best at whatever he is doing. Next year, Luke plans to go to the University of Wisconsin Lacrosse where he plans to major in Engineering. Ten years from now, Luke hopes he will have a job he enjoys and is able to spend time outside where he will continue fishing and hunting. Luke, thank you for your contributions Chatfield High School! Your ability to make people smile and laugh will be missed. Good luck at Lacrosse, you are going to do fantastic! Go Gophers!
